Short & Sweet :: Mini Photo sessions

After shooting lots of family photos, i find that after about 15-20 minutes, (and if I'm being honest, more like 10 minutes) the children start dwindling! They are tired of having to smile/pose/ or have someone keep telling them how to be for a hour session.

So with the beauty of fall only lasting here in Saskatchewan for a short few weeks, it was the perfect time to do mini sessions of the little cuties in our lives.

I put it out there for people to book 10-15 minute time slots, and over today and tomorrow i have and will be shooting some kiddies, and a couple of family shoots!!

Its exciting to finally be out there officially as a photographer! Here comes the Britographer! I have a feeling that these mini sessions will be occurring often!! I could tell just from the couple of them i did today that it worked so much better.

The kids were angels! They performed, and had fun, and i find that even the candids are so much better because they are just relaxed and don't feel too forced!

If you are interested in finding out about more from these future mini sessions, find me on facebook under BRITOGRAPHY! Like the page and keep updated!

Ill be uploading some sneek peeks from today and tomorrow soon!

My Little Man

I love to take photos! And its exciting that after finally getting my canadian work permit i can now open my photography business "BRITOGRAPHY".

But among all the things that i like to photograph, my little man, is my favourite. He is not camera shy, and can flash a cute smile at just the right time.

Here are a few sneek peeks of his 11 month shoot i did for him. Cannot believe he will be one in two weeks!

I LOVE TO CAPTURE HIM JUST NATURAL! JUST BEING HIM!!! Love you son!

My First E-Card

After seeing so many E-cards that make me laugh out loud, this beauty has been roaming around my mind for a while. I finally put it together.

Go ahead and pin it to see how many times it can get a look on pinterest.

It is very true! i loved this movie as a kid, and i spent countless times in the bath tub as a kid (and... cough... cough... a teenager... and, fine ill admit it, an adult too).

Did you do the same thing?

Maternity Session :: Mandy & Quincy

Their story is one that is woven with faith and answered prayer! These guys are some of our closest friends, and have walked through wind and fire with us, and I could not be more honoured to have the chance to capture these memories of them waiting on the arrival of their first baby.

These are some of my favourites, the momma to be told me "i wish quincy wasn't so silly in some of them", but i told her that's what i love about them. I love that these pictures showcase their relationship and how they are silly together, and fun and how much they love and enjoy each other.

This is them.

I look at them and smile, feeling so blessed to have them in my life, and tears of excitement for the journey of parenthood they are about to embark upon.

If you want to read more about their incredible journey and also get some laughs from the newly to be father you can go to his website: (Filled with stories of becoming a first time dad.)

Here are some sneak peeks from the wonderful couple.

i feel like their should be a caption under this one. "opps, i guess i knocked her up" haha!

Double Purpose

I love reading those articles and pins about household products or food etc. that can be used for stuff other than its original purpose. Things like vinegar as a surface cleaner, coffee beans as vase fillers and magazine holders as hanging shelves, and so many more.I love finding a new use for something.

While away visiting the parents (who have just moved to the caribbean island of Trinidad) on our vacation, it has opened up time for me to do the little things that sometimes there just isn't time for when having a young baby to look after.

I have just grown my fingernails out - something that is really hard for me, as i have a bad habit of biting them off. I sat down and decided to do my nails. Either my momma, father or sister played with my son as i zoned out into my newly grown nails.

I had painted them this pale blue that my sister had, its a beautiful colour, not reflecting the true colour so well in the picture, but i wanted to add a little more detail now i had more "nail" to work with. I had brought some shimmery gold with me, and so i decided to give all my nails a gold shimmery tip.... BUT what to use. In a foreign country, evening time. i search the cupboards trying to find some type of tape that wouldn't peel off the first layer of polish i had on. i found some BROWN PARCEL TAPE in the scissor draw. "I'll give that a go. looks thin enough".

Found out its the PERFECT thing for decorating your nails. It was thin enough to hold down my nails to make the perfect diagonal line and as i peeled the tape away none was taken off with it.

So for a long story, all that was to say that parcel tape is a great way to do some art work on the nails if you get the chance.

5 DIY Gift ideas for Fathers Day

Fathers day is on June 17th this year, and while i was thinking of what to do for the hubby from our baby boy on his first official fathers day, i came across some ideas that inspired me to customize them as gifts for the occasion.

I have yet to choose which i will pick. Here are some things to get the kids involved in gift giving and loving on their dad!

The CREATE CHALLENGES are a little more tricky or time consuming but an idea to push forward with a little more creativity. one for every suggestion.

1.  PERSONALIZED COFFEE MUG

Go to your local dollar store and pick up a white mug and a sharpie. You could write "I love Daddy" on it, or a favourite quote that your child says, or "best dad in the world". Or why not try and be a little more creative.

CREATE CHALLENGE: Trace around your childs hand, or do a set of six mugs all with different things that the child loves about their dad

Use a sharpie and bake in over for 30 minutes at 350 to set in the ink.
If you use ceramic paint, just check the instructions on the pack.

2. HANDS ON T-SHIRT

Easy peesey lemon squeezy.... buy one white tshirt (walmart for a basic tee about $5 and some fabric paint.
Child/children's hand print on the front.

CREATE CHALLENGE: Take your tshirt outside and let the kids go mad splattering paint all over to make a funky graffiti style t-shirt for the daddykins

3. POP!

This is in no way my idea, i totally saw it on pinterest and thinks it adorable. It caught my eye because my husband loves A&W root beer.
Grab a pack of root beer and print off this free downloadable label that says "Your an A&Wesome Dad"

CREATE CHALLENGE Maybe take a fathers day walk to an A&W and present him with it there... make a trip out of it and give the gift of time as well!

4. MOVIE NIGHT

Make up a little coupon that says "One Movie Experience". Im thinking something like star wars, or some great action manly film. Buy the Dvd, or use one that you already have and put the coupon on top and a ribbon around it.

CREATE CHALLENGE: Go hardcore and make it a real experience. Grab a basket from the dollar store, and pop your dvd in there with your coupon, then add a bag of popcorn, some pop and some candy. Maybe even a voucher for some fast food. The let dad have the night of his life.

5. CLAY ALL THE WAY

Whenever i go down the craft aisle at the dollar store i always see the little packs of clay. Ok, so they may not be the best quality clay in the world but when your dealing with little ones, they don;t know the difference, and lets be honest, dad probably wont either.

Make a bowl with dad drawn into it and paint it up as a quaint homemade gift from the kidlets.

CREAT CHALLENGE: Sit the kids down at a prepped table, hook them up with an apron and let them sculpt their daddy. Follow kit instructions for oven/drying times.
